Hi everybody!

In the middle of the chaos (you know, the virus...) we are still here to learn English as always! So, here you have my new recommendations for this week. As you can see, we have some fun Disney stuff for the lowest level and some detectives' content for the highest level.

This week's topic: (DISNEY) STORIES

  • VIDEO: Last day we were talking about telling stories, reading books and....the wonderful world of Disney! I've found one Disney Pixar's most memorable short films. It's about Monsters Inc. They have a short dialogue which is quite easy, anyway, here you have the script.  Enjoy!

  • READING: Are you curious about the year of publication of each of the films? Check their official webpage. Spoiler, Snow White was Disney's first movie on 1937!

  • PHOTO-CAPTIONS: More Disney! Here you have an interesting map on the places where each of the Disney films were set. None of in Spain, I'm afraid! Have a look!

UPPER-INTERMIDIATE

This week's topic: SECRETS, RUMOURS AND (WHITE) LIES

  • LISTENING. We've been talking about keeping secrets and telling secrects away, but, how about rumours? Are rumours secrets or lies? Here you have an exra listening about rumours. Remember, answers are here

  • PHOTO-CAPTION: Lying is not only about 'white-lies' (mentirijillas) there are situations in which spotting a liar is extremely important. This is the case of criminals! This is what detectives were made for! Here you have some body language signs on how to spot a liar.

As you can see, this infographic was made by the famous book publishing company, Penguin Books. They have published probably hundreds of thrilling stories about crime and detective (Sherlok Holmes is not the only one). If you are interested, here you have a list of some of the best detective novels in English.

Do you like reading detective stories? What do you know about Sherlok Holmes?

  • MUSIC: This week let's play some music, why not? Interstingly, there is an English boy band from London called White Lies. The play indie music, which is quite fashionable nowadays. Besides, I've found a song from Marina and the Diamonds (pretty famous a few years ago) called 'Lies'. This song is about pretending you are still in contact with the person you love, so, that's lying, right?
